You're here for a reason! Let’s take this opportunity to enhance your skills for unexpected emergency cardiovascular situations and empower yourself to make a difference when it matters most.
According to the American Heart Association (AHA), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a life-saving procedure performed when the heart stops beating. Starting CPR immediately can double or triple a person's chances of survival.
Healthcare workers, law enforcement, teachers, daycare workers, personal trainers, and lifeguards are just a few professionals who can benefit greatly from these skills. The wonderful part is that anyone, even children, can learn and apply them in emergencies!.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is a comprehensive course that equips you with essential skills, including CPR! While CPR is often highlighted for its focus on chest compressions in emergencies, BLS certification offers a broader range of life-saving techniques. Though many use the terms interchangeably, earning a BLS certification truly prepares you to respond effectively in critical situations. It's an empowering opportunity to make a real difference when it matters most!
To prepare for emergency cardiovascular situations, find a BLS or CPR class taught by an AHA-certified instructor. After completing the class, you will receive a card that certifies your training. This card is valid for two years and must be renewed before or on your two-year anniversary. The American Heart Association mandates that you take a refresher course every two years to maintain your certification. .

I am a dual board-certified family and mental health nurse practitioner with a diverse, enriching experience caring for patients of all ages! I’m passionate about educating individuals and mentoring nurses, and nothing brings me greater joy than seeing people gain confidence in their skills, empowering them to save lives!.
Classes are held in a comfortable, convenient location, typically at your local library. However, I am also happy to travel to a destination of your choice. If you have a large group, we can find a location that best accommodates. your needs, and classes hosted at someone's home are also welcome
My CPR class fully aligns with the most current guidelines from the American Heart Association, updated in 2025! You will gain essential skills and the confidence to perform CPR on adults, children, and infants. Additionally, you'll learn how to effectively use an AED and assist individuals who are choking or experiencing unconscious choking.
